England’s team will be competitive as they played Pro League matches against China

England women’s hockey squad reached Hyderabad this weekend to compete in the FIH Hockey World Cup 2026 Qualifiers scheduled to be held in Telangana from March 8 to 14.
After Uruguay, England is the second team to have reached Hyderabad to compete in the eight-nation 2026 World Cup qualifier that offers three berths.
Wayback in 2020, England team had won bronze in the World Cup.
England skipper Flora Peel exuded confidence of winning one of the three berths at stake. “We’ve had a really good training back home. We also played in the Pro League in China,” Flora added. “We’re really looking forward to playing on the Hyderabad pitch.”
England is clubbed in Pool A and will face Italy in their opening match on March 8. The second match will be against Korea on March 9. England will take on Austria on March 11 in the group stage competition.
After the pool stage the top two teams from each group will advance to semifinals. The finalists and bronze medal winner will get an automatic berth for the World Cup.
Pool A: Austria, England, Italy, Korea
Pool B: India, Scotland, Uruguay, Wales.
