Indian team reap good harvest at 10th World Junior Wushu Championship in China

Indian players won nine medals, three of them gold at the 10th World Junior Wushu Championship 2026.

The national team won nine medals including three gold at the 10th World Junior Wushu Championship 2026 held in the Chinese city of Tianjin. According to information, the national team won three gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

Indian athletes dominated Sanda events and won three gold medals. The gold-medal winners were Thongam Upendro (45 kg boys), Nongmaithem Pamheiba (52 kg junior boys) and Loitongbam Victor (52 kg youth boys).

The silver medal winners were Yuvraj 48 kg youth), Gautam Mankas (48 kg junior. The bronze medal winners were Anu (48 kg youth).

Indian athletes also excelled in Taolu (artistic) events. Rajkumari Lanchenbi Chanu won bronze, Konthoujam Devikarani Devi won silver and bronze.

Chairman of the Wushu Association of India, Bhupender Singh Bajwa, said, Indian junior team’s excellent performance at the world stage is testimony of strong foundation at the grassroots level.
