FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup New Zealand 2025-26: India outplay Chile, set up title clash with New Zealand

The Indian women’s hockey team registered an emphatic 6-0 in over Chile in the semi-finals of the FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup New Zealand 2025-26 in Auckland on Saturday. With this win Indian team set up title clash with New Zealand who beat USA via shootout.

India and New Zealand were to strong teams and as expected both have reached the final.

Navneet Kaur (6’, 13’), Deepika (14’, 18’), Neha (32’) and Rutuja Dadaso Pisal (39’) were goal scorer for the Indian team while skipper Salima Tete was adjudged ‘Player of the Match’ for her all-round performance.

India shot into the lead as early as sixth minutes. Thereafter continued to score at regular interval to march into the final. India was leading 4-0 in the opening two quarters and continued to dominate in the third and fourth quarters also.

New Zealand and USA played 1-all in the regulation time and in the shootout, former scored 4-1 win to sail into the final.
