Army’s distance runner Harmanjot Singh was a key elite Indian runner in the men’s field. The field is wide open now.

Army’s star distance runner Harmanjot Singh has pulled out of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon as he failed a dope test. He has been provisionally suspended by NADA (National Anti Doping Agency), according to a report in the newspaper.
Harmanjot Singh, winner of silver medal at the Asian Cross Country Championships earlier this year, was a key runner in the elite Indian category. Procam International, organisers of the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon, had announced last week the Indian elite field for the 21st edition of the World Athletics Gold Label Road Race. Harmanjot Singh was named as a leading runner. The field is wide open now.
India’s star distance runner and winner of three medals at the just concluded Asian Games 2026, Gulveer Singh, will not compete in the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon. Even Asian Games silver medallist in men’s marathon, Sawan Barwal, has taken a break and will not compete at next weekend’s 21km in Delhi.
Lili Das and Kavita Yadav are two key runners in the Indian women’s elite field.
