Salima Tete has been named skipper of the national team for the upcoming FIH Hockey Women’s Nations Cup New Zealand 2025-26 to be held from June 15 to 21 in Auckland, New Zealand. Hockey India announced the 20-member national squad on Tuesday.

India is clubbed in Pool A with Japan, United States and Uruguay. The Pool B comprises New Zealand, Chile, Korea and France.

The Indian squad had a good preparation ahead of the Nations Cup. The Indian team played a four-match friendly series against the Australian team in Perth. The series provided the team with invaluable experience, giving chief national women’s coach Sjoerd Marijne an opportunity to test the squad.
