The Four match friendly series is part of preparation for the upcoming international meet in New Zealand.

Australia came from behind to beat India 2-1 in the opening contest of the four-match friendly that got underway in Perth today. The series are part of the Indian women’s hockey team build up for the upcoming FIH tournament in New Zealand.
India struck first in the opening quarter. Navneet Kaur converted a penalty corner to give India an early lead. The Indian defence remained resolute for much of the first half, successfully maintaining their advantage through the second quarter. However, momentum shifted in the second half as Australia’s Abby Wilson capitalised on two penalty-corner opportunities.
The two sides will meet again on May 27 for the second match of the series.
