Wrestlers from Haryana stamped their authority in U23 National Championships, win titles in all three formats

Wrestlers from Haryana won men’s freestyle, Greco Roman and women’s freestyle titles at the just concluded U23 National Wrestling Championships in Rohtak.

It was a clean sweep for Haryana wrestling teams at the 2026 U-23 National Wrestling Championship that concluded recently at MDU Rohtak.  

Wrestlers from Haryana stamped their authority in all three formats, winning men’s freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women’s wrestling titles. The Haryana team collected as many as 200 points in the men’s freestyle division and 195 points in the Greco-Roman category. The Haryana women’s freestyle team earned 183 points to win the trophy. 

Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) put up a strong challenge but finished runners-up in both men’s freestyle (138 points) and Greco-Roman (165 points).

Maharashtra claimed the second in the women’s group behind Haryana with 160 points.

Outstanding performance in the national meet will give potential wrestlers a chance to earn a berth in the national squad for upcoming U23 World Championships 2026, and U20 World Championships 2026.
