India’s U20 mixed 4x400m relay team has the second fastest time behind hosts USA.

Indian athletes have second fastest time behind USA in mixed 4x400m relay and look set to make a big impression at the World Athletics U20 Championships Oregon 26 starting August 5 at Hayward Field, University of Oregon, USA. The mixed 4x100m event will also feature in the competition for the first time.
The Indian team having a personal best of 3:17.76 seconds is clubbed in heat 1 of the mixed 4x400m relay. The other teams include Poland, Mexico, Slovak Republic, Britain and Czechia. The mixed 4x400m relay is scheduled on the opening day of the global meet in Eugene.
United States pre-race favourites have the fastest of 3:17.69 seconds and are grouped in heat 3. The first three in each heat qualify for the final.
In the men’s 4x100m Jamaica will look forward to defending their title won two years ago in the South American City of Lima.
According to World Athletics, Italy and Great Britain are also contenders for a medal.
The men’s longer relay has been dominated by the USA in the past two editions and will be favourites for a third consecutive title at Hayward Field.
The home team is also pre-race favourites in the women’s 4x400m relay. Australia, Jamaica and Great Britain are other nations considered to have a strong pool of relay runners.
