Australia U18 Men secure a 3-1 win against India while their women’s team registered a 4-1 win against Indian women’s side during friendly matches in Bhopal on Sunday.

It was good exposure for hosts Indian U18 teams as they play a series of matches against Australia to prepare for upcoming international tournaments.
The Indian U18 men’s and women’s hockey teams were impressive but suffered defeats at the hands of Australian in their respective second matches played in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
In the men’s group, Australia secured a 3-1 win over India to take a 1-0 lead in the four-match series, following the 2-2 draw in the opening game. Ashish Tani Purti scored the lone goal for India.
In the women’s group, the Indian team suffered a 1-4 loss against the visitor. Diya (11’) gave India an early lead but Australia made a comeback to win the contest.
The Indian women’s team will look to bounce back when they take the field for their third match of the series on Monday. The men’s team will also be in action for their third match of the series against Australia tomorrow.
