Boxing World Cup Stage 2: Exciting 3-2 win for Nikhil in men’s 55kg category, Jyoti enters semis in women’s 48kg  

Three Indian boxers advanced to the next round in their respective weight categories on Tuesday.

India’s Nikhil scored an exciting 3-2 win over France’s Christopher Hippocrate in the men’s 55kg category on the second day of the Boxing World Cup Stage 2 in Chinese City of Guiyang.

Jyoti and Prachi also advanced to the next round in their respective weight categories. Competing in the women’s 57kg category, Prachi registered a convincing 5-0 win over USA’s Deborah Grant to move into the next round.

Jyoti was also impressive in the women’s 48kg division. She beat Mongolia’s Enkh Amgalan Nomundari in the second round of the Referee Stop the Contest (RSC). With this crucial win, Jyoti moved into the semi-finals and confirmed a medal for the country.

In the women’s section, Saneh (65kg) squares off against South Korea’s Seon Sujin, and Mahi Lama (60kg) clashes with Mongolia’s Monkhor Namuun.
