Japan Asian Games Trials: Himanshu Dhillon of Haryana wins men’s 10m air rifle event

The final selection trials to select national rifle and pistol squad for Japan Asian Games is in progress in Dehradun

Himanshu Dhillon of Haryana won the men’s 10m air rifle event of the T4 national selection trials at Trishul Shooting range in Dehradun on Sunday. Himanshu scored a win in the last and 24th shot. His winning score was 252.2 in the men’s 10m air rifle.

In the women’s air rifle, Deeksha shot into the lead in the final and her sustained efforts saw her winning the event from Ashi Chouksey by 1.2. Deeksha’s winning score was 252.7.

In the men’s 25m rapid fire event, Suraj Sharma emerged winner with a score of 29 points. Ankur Goel of Uttarakhand was second with 27, while Bhavesh Shekhawat was third with 25 points.

Outstanding performance in the T4 selection trials will improve national rankings of the respective shooters.

After the conclusion of the national selection trials, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) will select 15 men and 15 women shooters for 28 shooting events at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan starting September 19.
