Two-Time Asiad medallist PV Sindhu and Satwik-Chirag to headline India’s Asian Games Squad

Two-time Asian Games medallist PV Sindhu and men’s doubles gold medallist Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will headline a strong Indian badminton squad for the 20th Asian Games to be held in the Japanese region of Aichi-Nagoya from September 19.

The Badminton Association of India (BAI) selection committee announced the squad after reviewing recent performances across national and international tournaments.

Indian badminton players have won 13 medals in Asian Games history, including a breakthrough gold medal at the previous edition. The 2022 Games marked India’s most successful campaign, yielding one gold, one silver, and an individual bronze through Prannoy. India’s highest medal tally overall came at the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games, where the country secured five bronze medals.
