Trap shooter Neeru Dhanda continues her good run at the Aichi Nagoya Asian Games in Japan. On Wednesday, Neeru Dhanda paired with Kynan Chenai to win mixed trap team gold. Earlier, Neeru was victorious in the individual women’s trap event. She was instrumental in winning women’s team silver in trap competition.
On their way to gold in the mixed trap event, the Indian pair fought hard to outduel formidable Qatar.
Neeru and Kynan finish fourth in the qualification to advance to four-team final. China, Qatar, and Iran were the other three teams in the final and had a better record than Indian shooters. But the Indian shooters stayed calm in the knockout stage to emerge victorious.
Iran finished fourth. Bronze went to China. In the shootout between India and Qatar for the gold medal, the Indian pair held their nerve when it mattered most to win the gold medal.
