Japan Open 2026: Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu outplays Han Yue, will face Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in quarters

Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu continued her good run in the Daihatsu Japan Open 2026 with an outright 21-16, 21-14 win over World No. 5 Han Yue in Japan on Thursday. The Japan Open is a BWF Super 750 tournament.

The Indian shuttler will next face former World No 1 Nozomi Okuhara of Japan on Friday.

Sindhu had previously reached the last-eight stage in Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore. She also reached the semifinals stage at Malaysian and Australian Open tournaments.

India’s challenge in the mixed doubles ended as Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto suffered a 22-20, 21-17 defeat at the hands of China’s Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping in the Round of 16.
